According to Ethiopian tradition the Ark of the Covenant - Christendom's greatest treasure, said to contain the stone tablets God gave to Moses atop Mt Sinai - is kept in this small chapel in the northern Ethiopian town of Axum. Only one priest is allowed to see the Ark and this was as close as I could get to the holiest place in Ethiopia (there were plenty of grumpy church guards to make sure I didn't venture any nearer). Someone should tell Indiana Jones he was looking in the wrong place...
